Full Professor, Universidad Nacional Autonoma De Mexico. Holds Ph.D. (Finance and International Business) from The University of Wisconsin-Madison. Previous Experience Includes Teaching and Research Positions at University of Texas in San Antonio; Rutgers University--the State University of New Jersey; University of Wisconsin-Madison; and University of San Diego. He also held a Special Tutorial Chair at the Doctorate in Social Sciences at Universidad Autonoma De Sinaloa, Mexico, 1995-199,  from National Council for Science and Technology, Mexico. He Has Been Also Consultant for the World Bank and Several Government Agencies and Private Corporations.

Active Member of Several International Academic Organizations. Founder Member of International Society for the Intercommunication of New Ideas, President, 1995-1999; President, North American Economics and Finance Association (1985). Founder Member and Vice President (1992) of International Trade and Finance Association. Secretary, Business Association of Latin American Studies, 1995; President, Association of Borderland Studies, 2000,. Founder Member Multinational Finance Society. Founder Member, Mexican Academy of Administrative Sciences, member from the Global Finance Association since 1998.

Member of the Editorial Board of several Journals: Financial Letters, Emerging Market Financial Letters, The International Trade Journal, Global Economy Journal, The International Journal of Finance, Multinational Financial Journal, International Journal for New Ideas, Archives of Economic History (Greece);  Ciencias Administrativas (Mexico), and Mexican Journal of Economy and Finance (Mexico), Currently he is Editor-in-Chief of Frontiers in finance and Economics.

Has Received Several Domestic and International Distinctions, among Them "Distinguished Fellow," International Society for Intercommunication of New Ideas, 1990; "Sion Raveed Award" Prize (outstanding Paper), Business Association of Latin American Studies, 1996. Prix Universitaire Ami (Quebec, Canada), 1994; Best 2005 Paper, Problemas del Desarrollo. Revista Latinoamericana de Economia, Member of the National Researchers System, Mexico, a Distinction conferred by National Council for Science and Technology, Mexico, Level III.
