Conference has been Canceled
Due to the Coronavirus

Conference Cancellation Information

February 3, 2020

Dear Colleagues and Friends:

Since early January, we have been closely following the spread of the coronavirus.  Very unfortunately, the situation appears grave. WHO has declared it a global emergency, U.S. State Department has started evacuating the Americans from the affected areas, and advises against traveling to China.  Major airlines have suspended their flights to China. Over 50 million people in the affected areas and surrounding, including the Province of Zhejiang and Hangzhou city, the venue for our 2020 GFC, are under strict lockdown.

Due to the uncertainty and health risks, after consultation with our executive board, we are compelled to cancel the GFC 2020 in Hangzhou, China.  While this situation can change in the next few months, the lead time required for travel planning and visa make it imperative to make the decision now.

Our hearts and prayers are with the Chinese and all the individuals worldwide who are adversely affected.  We also hope this change may not cause inconveniencies for the GFC community. Any new announcement will be posted on our website:www.glofin.org

Sincerely,

Manuchehr Shahrokhi, Ph.D.
